What is layering and how is it done?
Layering fragrances is the art of wearing two or more scents together to create your own unique, personalized fragrance. Feel free to mix and match your favorites—and for more tips and inspiration, check out our Column section.
How should I store my perfume?
Keep your perfumes away from direct heat or sunlight, and avoid sudden changes in temperature to preserve their quality.
What does Eau de Parfum and Extrait de Parfum mean? What’s the difference?
Eau de Parfum (EDP) and Extrait de Parfum are both highly concentrated fragrances, but they differ mainly in their strength and intensity.
- Eau de Parfum (EDP): Contains about 15–25% fragrance concentration, making it stronger and longer-lasting than lighter types like Eau de Toilette or Eau de Cologne. EDPs are best applied in small amounts to pulse points such as the wrists, neck, and behind the ears.
- Extrait de Parfum: Also known as pure perfume, this is the most concentrated form, with around 20–40% fragrance concentration (sometimes even higher). It delivers a richer, more powerful scent that lasts even longer. Because of its intensity, it’s usually sold in smaller bottles and should be applied sparingly.
In short: EDP gives a long-lasting fragrance that’s noticeable without being too heavy, while Extrait de Parfum offers a deeper, more luxurious scent for those who want maximum intensity.
Where should I apply perfume?
For best results, apply your perfume on pulse points like the neck, wrists, and behind the ears—or spritz it in the air and walk through to let the scent surround you. For more tips and application methods, visit our Column section.
What is the diffusion of a perfume?
Diffusion is how your perfume spreads from your skin so others can smell it. A well-balanced fragrance should be noticeable but never overwhelming. For more details, check out the related articles on our Column section.
Why can’t I smell my fragrance after a while?
This is a normal effect called nose fatigue—when your nose gets used to a scent and stops noticing it. Don’t worry, others can still smell it, so there’s no need to overapply.
